I've heard of people staying home to wait for the delivery (for things like large ladders). But I've also received a big standing fan as a gift and they just left it outside my door. So I dunno...
Some co-workers definitely stay home to "wait for the delivery" guys, so it might be like the cable guy.

Hard to say percentage-wise. Assume rent for unfurnished place = $1k. Buying all new furniture would cost you at least $2k. But a rental lease is maybe 10% of the time spent in a house. So the furniture cost is really $200, so I guess my answer would be 20% more :)

Honestly, the new Hyundai's are getting better and better. The designs are catching up to the counterpart imports, and they have a long warranty. I'm glad this is anonymous though because I'm not ready to admit that I actually like a Hyundai :-P
