"Has anyone ordered furniture, mattresses, or otherwise large items via Amazon.com? How does shipping work? Do I stay home from 12-4pm like I would for the cable guy?"

I've heard of people staying home to wait for the delivery (for things like large ladders). But I've also received a big standing fan as a gift and they just left it outside my door. So I dunno...
Some co-workers definitely stay home to "wait for the delivery" guys, so it might be like the cable guy.
